President Barack Obama is speaking out about the violent riots in Baltimore. On The Steve Harvey Morning Show Wednesday morning, he condemned rioters setting fire to buildings and throwing rocks at police in Baltimore earlier this week. But, he also addressed the distrust between the citizens of Baltimore and the police.

“Unfortunately we’ve seen these police-related killings or deaths too often now, and obviously everybody is starting to recognize that this is not just an isolated incident in Ferguson or New York, but we’ve got some broader issues,” Obama said on the show.

He also said he hoped people will listen to Freddie Gray’s family who called for an end to the horrific violence. Gray died from a spinal cord injury that he received while in police custody earlier this month.
