Seattle Seahawks cornerback, Richard Sherman, spoke to the media yesterday before his press conference about the Black Lives Matter movement. A post on the issue has been passed around the internet over the past few days, which appeared to be written by Sherman. Sherman wanted to take a moment before his press conference to address the situation.
Sherman started off the press conference by saying he does not condone violence. “I don’t think any times a time to call out for an all out war against police or, you know, any race of people.” Sherman went on to say, “But as a black man, I do understand that black lives matter. I stand for that, I believe in that wholeheartedly. I also think there’s a way to go about things and there’s a way to do things.” You can watch his full statement below.
