Iconic jazz singer Billie Holiday will soon be performing in front of an audience again, but this time as a hologram.
Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater has partnered with Hologram USA to re-create Holiday into a permanent educational installation at the theater.
Holiday’s hologram will be able to talk about the history of the Apollo, she’ll be able to sing some songs, and even take questions from the audience.
The singer’s estate has agreed to a deal with the theater to allow them to re-create the singer as a hologram and use her voice.
Holiday appeared at the Apollo more than 30 times. She died in 1959.
