News is breaking in Washington, DC on Capitol Hill that House Speaker John Boehner will resign at the end of October. The word comes from Representative John Mica of Florida, who says Boehner has given his notice to the Republican rank and file. One of Boehner’s aides says Boehner believes that a dispute over leadership would damage the House. Boehner has been Speaker of the House since 2011.
