Idris Elba’s career is at an all time high at the moment, as he recently took home two SAG awards for his roles in Beasts of No Nation and Luther. A source told a daily newspaper that Elba had recently split from long-time girlfriend and mother of his 22-month-old son, Naiyana Garth. Garth was noticeably absent from his side at the British Film Awards this past Sunday, when he took home the award for Best Actor for his role in Beasts of No Nation.
The reports of the couple’s split comes just a day after Elba was spotted out with Naomi Campbell. Campbell recently publicly congratulated Elba for his SAG wins on Twitter.
Elba has also recently hinted at shift in his career. Elba said, “I will probably become a travelling folk singer. Just put out albums every now and again. I’m not even joking.”
