The total is in for how much money Chris Rock’s daughter Zahra and her fellow Girl Scouts raised selling those delicious cookies during the Oscars. Unfortunately, they raised considerably less than what Rock revealed during the broadcast.
Rock unveiled a total board that said the Scouts raised $65,243, but a representative of the Scouts told TMZ that the amount was actually $2,500. The large total was reported to all be part of the stunt. The Scouts sold 500 boxes of cookies at $5 each. It is also reported that the money made will go to the troop based in Inglewood, CA, not the New York based troop Rock’s daughters are involved in.
Although the amount is considerably less than what was broadcast, it was still a good chunk of money and a great plug for the Girl Scouts. No word yet if that amount will hold off rival cookie mom, Mrs. Dunn. You can read more on the story here.
