An Alabama A&M University student is making a big impact in his community.  Rodney Smith Jr. started his own free lawn care service to help out elderly and single mothers, who may not be able to complete such tasks.

Smith had set a personal goal to mow at least 40 lawns by the end of last winter.  After he reached his goal much sooner than expected, he set his sights higher to mow 100 lawns before winter.  The community quickly started to notice what Smith was doing.  He decided to created the “Raising Men Lawn Care Service,” as well as a GoFundMe page, to raise money for necessary equipment so he could grow his lawn care service.

Smith states, “The union of an ordinary yard maintenance service and the commitment to establish an inspiring program to keep our young men and boys (young women and girls) on a positive path while learning and understanding their value in society. This has been my vision since I started with the first yard.  All the lawns we do are done for FREE.”

Smith posted a photo on Facebook of an elderly woman, who’s yard he had serviced, that has since gone viral.  The great work this young man is doing isn’t going unnoticed.  The Huffington Post even shared a video of Smith on Facebook that has nearly 11 million views.

Smith is truly a blessing to many!  Check out the video below!
