Kirk Franklin has fallen victim to the antics of a satirical website, “Celebtricity.”  The site posted a false quote they claimed to be from Kirk Franklin that said, “Jesus was as fake as the Easter bunny.”

The article posted the following quote they claimed came from Franklin’s mouth:

“Every human being was wired with the desire for happiness. And we will try different things all in the pursuit of that feeling. I’m saying, if you really want to be happy, you have to start with YOURSELF. Don’t be brainwashed by a make-believe deity. My goal is to try to lead people to the manufacturer of their souls because we all know Jesus is as fake as the Easter Bunny.”

Fans quickly began to question Franklin on social media asking if he really said that or not.  Franklin responded to a concerned fan on twitter to let him know the statement posted online was completely false, and that he would never say anything of that nature.

Franklin has come under scrutiny for working with musicians such as Kanye West and Chance The Rapper.  Franklin has asked fans to not judge who he associates or works with, because whatever God has lead him to do is “his purpose.”  Read more on the story here.
