100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race
The Indy 500 is always an amazing day of events, but this year’s pageantry is off the hook as we celebrate the 100th running of the race. The city is welcoming 300,000 visitors this weekend, so get to the track early on Sunday to take in all the historic race activity. This year marks the first sellout in the history of the race, but local fans without tickets will be able to watch live coverage for the first time since 1950 on RTV-6

IPL 500 Festival Parade
In Indy, we put our parade right up against the Tournament of Roses and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parades when it comes to spectacular floats, marching bands, giant balloons, military units, celebrities, and costumed characters. The 33 drivers who will start Sunday’s race serve as honorary grand marshals. Tickets for reserved seating are sold out, but spectators are welcome to stand along the parade route watching free of charge.

Indianapolis Indians Baseball
On Memorial Day, the Indianapolis Indians will host the Rochester Red Wings in a game that will directly affect the International League Wild Card standings. Starting pitching for the Indians will be the key feature as Chad Kuhl, Jameson Taillon, Tyler Glasnow and Wilfredo Boscan boast ERA’s under 3.00. The game starts at 6:05 p.m. under the Victory Field lights and it will definitely be a treat as nothing says a summer holiday like baseball under the stars.
