Boxing legend Muhammad Ali remains hospitalized as word comes that his condition is said to be more serious than previously stated. The London Daily Mirror is reporting Ali’s children have rushed to his bedside at a Phoenix-area hospital. Ali was being treated for a respiratory issue that has been complicated by the Parkinson’s disease he was diagnosed with in the 1980’s. Though we have not been able to independently confirm this, some media are reporting that he has been placed on life support:

Social media is ablaze with those offering well-wishes and prayers.

Ali, known as “The Greatest” and “The GOAT–Greatest Of All Time”, has been hospitalized several times in recent years including at the end of 2014 for pneumonia and early last year for a urinary tract infection, according to various media reports. The 74-year-old’s last public appearance was April 9 at a Celebrity Fight Night Dinner in Phoenix.

The sports legend and human rights activist was born and raised just south of Indy, in Louisville, Kentucky.
