Ayesha Curry may be the wife of NBA superstar Steph Curry, but she is proving she has her own set of talents to be recognized.  Ayesha, who started cooking at age 12, speaks on her rising success in the kitchen.

It all started with a little cooking blog her husband encouraged her to do, after she realized she didn’t want to pursue her acting career any longer.  The blog was wildly successful, eventually landing her a show called “Cookin’ with the Currys,” which aired on the network that broadcasts Warriors games in the Bay Area.

Ayesha’s awesome cooking skills and shining personality grabbed the attention of The Food Network and the Cooking Channel.  Details have not been announced yet, but a pilot has been filmed and she will appear on the networks later this year.

Curry is also getting ready for the release of her cookbook this September called, “The Seasoned Life:  Food, Family, Faith, and the Joy of Eating Well.”  The executive editor of her cookbook says he offered to bring in a professional to plate the food for photographs, but Ayesha insisted she do it all herself.  Curry said, “I didn’t want it to look too professional because this book is for the auntie who has never cooked, or for the guy who is trying to impress his girlfriend.  I needed it to be genuine, so the photos look like how it will look when you make it.”

Ayesha says her strong Christian faith helps her remain grounded.  She has been seen in viral memes and has been slammed by others on social media.  She explains that she just doesn’t deal with it and instead prays.  Curry says, “At the end of the day, the Internet is full of mean people.  Who are these people in their everyday life?  I pray for them.”

Of course she has had people tell her she is only successful because of her last name, but she has no problem proving them wrong.  She says, “It’s weird because I feel like I’m still spending time fighting off the naysayers who think I only have these opportunities because of Stephen.”  Curry continued, “While I’m clearly aware that he has helped me get through the door, I have to walk through that door and I feel like I have the talent to be here. So it has been fun to prove people wrong.”

Adding to her success, she recently partnered with celebrity chef Michael Minain for a pop-up BBQ restaurant called “International Smoke” that sold out a months worth of reservations in less than two weeks.  It’s clear to see why everyone loves Ayesha.  Keep on cooking, Chef Curry!  You can read more on the story here.
