Comedian Leslie Jones was very vocal about designers not wanting to dress her for the Ghostbusters premiere because she isn’t “sample size.”  After designer Christian Siriano saw Jones’ tweet, he quickly responded that he was more than willing to work with her, as he was a big fan of hers.

Over the weekend at the Ghostbusters premiere, Jones stepped out in her custom red gown designed by Siriano, and she looked AMAZING!

Jones isn’t the first woman to voice their issues with finding designers to work with, due to not being “sample size.”  Jones’ Ghostbusters co-star, Melissa McCarthy, has also spoken out against the fashion industry and their failure to see that women come in all shapes and sizes.

Siriano made his way into the fashion world in 2008, when he won the fourth season of “Project Runway.”  He was applauded after he tweeted, “It shouldn’t be exceptional to work with brilliant people just because they’re not sample size. Congrats aren’t in order, a change is.”

Siriano also stated, “We dress every size there is — we dress girls who are size 0, and girls who are a size 20.”  He continued, “It’s always been super important for my brand to have such a mix, but we never really think about sizes that much.”

Jones noted on twitter that she has taken  note of all the designers who wouldn’t offer to work with her, and she won’t forget.  Surely she will be working with Siriano for her next premiere, as he knocked this look out of the park.  Read more on the story here and here.
