Louisiana is currently dealing with devastating floods, which caused 11 deaths thus far, and has forced thousands of residence out of their homes. Pop star, Taylor Swift has donated $1 million to Louisiana’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Swift explained that her 1989 World Tour kicked off in Louisiana last year, and she wanted to give back to the fans that have been so welcoming to her.She also expressed how heartbreaking it is that thousands of families have been forced out of their homes.
Swift has gotten some backlash for making her donation known to the public, instead of remaining private about the amount of money she chose to donate. Others have praised her efforts and think that her large donation will encourage others to donate to the cause. Swift stated that she encourages others to donate and pray for Louisiana.
