Spirit & Place Festival – Home

This festival celebrates creativity through November 13 with more than 40 events for all ages and interests at various locations. Highlights include an opening night party with Tony Styxx and a public conversation featuring a sculptor, sociologist, community activist, and political scientist reflecting on poverty, homelessness, public policy, and the human spirit. Most events are free.

130th Birthday – Indianapolis City Market

Let them eat cake! Indy’s first public market house celebrates its birthday with this free, family-friendly party Friday. Play carnival games, make birthday cards, enjoy a special birthday beer from Sun King in the Tomlinson Tap Room (if you’re old enough, of course), listen to some music, and be sure to indulge your sweet tooth with a slice of cake.

Bands of America Super Regional Championship

If you love marching bands, you’ll want to be at Lucas Oil Stadium Friday and Saturday for this prestigious competition. In addition to nearly 60 of the best high school bands, see exhibition shows from college bands and explore an expo with more than 100 booths. Tickets are $22-$28 or $63 for a two-day pass. Kids 10 and under are free.
