Nationally recognized gospel singer Bishop Marvin Sapp will begin offering services downtown Muskegon sometime in 2017.

The sale of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church from the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids to Sapp, of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church was finalized on Tuesday, Jan. 3, according to the diocese.

The rectory next door to the church was included in the sale. Plans for the rectory have not been revealed.

A call to Lighthouse Full Life Center was not immediately returned.

The news that Lighthouse would offer Muskegon services went on the Official Marvin Sapp Page on Facebook and Twitter on Sunday, Jan. 1:
