Lisa Knowles-Smith & The Brown Singers Earn First-Ever Dove Award Nominations

Lisa Knowles-Smith & The Brown Singers continue to celebrate a historic year as their Billboard No. 1 hit “Promises” earns the group’s first-ever Dove Award nominations.

The chart-topping anthem, from the acclaimed album REVIVAL: LIVE IN DALLAS, is nominated for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year, while the album is recognized in the Traditional Gospel Album of the Year category at the 57th Annual GMA Dove Awards.

“Promises” became a landmark release for the legendary family quartet, making Lisa Knowles-Smith & The Brown Singers the first all-female gospel quartet group to reach No. 1 on both the Billboard and Mediabase Gospel Airplay charts.

“Receiving our first Dove Award nominations is an incredible honor,” said Lisa Knowles-Smith. “This nomination is not just about The Brown Singers—it’s a testimony that God still writes beautiful endings in the middle of painful chapters, and for that, we are forever grateful.”

The 57th Annual Dove Awards will be presented on October 6 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

The Dove recognition adds to an already remarkable season for the celebrated quartet. The group recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Kirk Franklin’s Praise and performed on Noochie’s Live From The Front Porch: Gospel on the Front Porch. They are also scheduled to perform at the 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards on August 15 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In addition to their Dove nominations, Lisa Knowles-Smith & The Brown Singers received five 2026 Stellar Award nominations, including:

  • Quartet of the Year
  • Duo/Chorus Group of the Year
  • Song of the Year (“Promises”)
  • Producer of the Year (Alescia Knowles-Smith & Frederick Perry)
  • Albertina Walker Female Artist of the Year (Lisa Knowles-Smith)

The celebration continues this fall as the group hosts its 50th Anniversary Homecoming Celebration Concert on October 18 in Memphis, Tennessee. The milestone event will feature special guests The Clark Sisters, Mary Mary, Darrel Petties & Take 2, Blest By Four, Men of Prayze, DJ Allen & Righteous, and Bre Holly & Faithful.

Building on the success of “Promises,” the group has also released its inspiring new single, “Goodness.” The uplifting song reminds listeners of God’s unwavering faithfulness and encourages believers to trust that He will continue to provide, protect, and fulfill every promise.
