“This will be an evening of theatre and conversation about history and race, as part of the Giving Voice Initiative. In collaboration with Asante Children’s Theatre, we will present several short theatre performances, totaling an hour and a half of performances. The performances will be followed by a facilitated conversation by an external partner, which will last 20-30 minutes.
The specific performances will include the premier of Lillian and Beulah by Crystal V. Rhodes, with Gabrielle Patterson, Alicia Sims and Ennis Adams, Jr. plus Black Pioneers: Roberts Settlement in 1836; and 10-minute monologues on Willa Brown, an aviation pioneer and Dr. Martin Jenkins, a pioneering educator and researcher, both graduates of Wiley High School in Terra Haute.”
