GARY BRACKETT’S DRIVE FOR LIFE: CONTINUING THE LEGACY OF TYLER GENNEKEN Presented by Clarian Health

Located on the campus of IUPUI) AND 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM Clarian Health (11700 N. Meridian Street, Carmel) Indianapolis Colts LB Gary Brackett understands the need to add more committed donors to the Be The Match Registry due to his brother’s fight against cancer. Gary was a Bone Marrow donor for his brother, Greg, who unfortunately passed away in 2005 after a two-year battle with leukemia. Fortunate to have a matching donor in his family, Greg did not have to search the Be The Match registy. However, 70% of donors are not that lucky and turn to Be The Match for lifesaving help. Drive for Life takes the reigns as a 2nd annual Be The Match event, building on the successful efforts of Tyler Genneken in 2009. Tyler, a 14-year-old who passed away in November 2009 while waiting on a bone marrow transplant, did not have a matching donor on the registry. Tyler and his family made it their ongoing mission to encourage Indiana residents to join the Be The Match registry so no patient would have to go without a lifesaving transplant. Our generous partners have provided funding to cover the costs to add many new registry members at this event, but online and on-site donations are encouraged to help us reach Gary’s fundraising goal of $10,000 to help add more Indiana donors to Be The Match.
