1 Cor. 13:5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
Words for the Day: Love Isn’t Touchy
The Bible says that God’s love in us is not touchy. If we wear our emotions on our sleeve all the time, we may need to spend more time in His presence before we face the day. Our tears can provoke sympathy, but it is better to be a giver instead of a taker all the time.
Starting your day with God will keep you “sweetened up” and full of confidence. As you enjoy His gentleness and kindness, you will be built up in your spirit and better able to overlook the offenses of others. Ask God to give you a strong heart, one ready to love people today as He does.
Take that and run with it!
