New York — Harlem residents rallied around Charlie Rangel Friday, a day after he was slapped with a humiliating censure for a slew of ethics violations.
The legendary Democrat’s nearly 40-year congressional career should have earned him a pass, constituents said.
“It’s heartbreaking, heart-wrenching,” said Ertie Foreman, 69. “The people of Harlem spoke loud and clear when we reelected him. They’ve had people who’ve done much worse than he did.”
