Audio ©2010 WTLC/Radio One.</strong> In the wake of a controversial beating of a 15 year old Black teen by Indianapolis Police three weeks ago Afternoons with Amos was invited and accepted an invitation to broadcast live from the Police Training Academy. Guests talked about police training and how residents should interact with police. Listeners called with examples of mistreatment by police along with questions about training and recruitment. It was the first time any Indianapolis media had broadcast such a program from the city’s Police Academy and may be one of the few (if not the first) broadcasts by Black Radio and/or Black Talk Radio from such an institution.

Audio ©2010 WTLC/Radio One.</strong> Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi is investigating whether four Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officers involved in allegedly beating a Black teen broke any laws. Brizzi announced the investigation Tuesday (June 1st). He talked about the reasons for the investigation while encouraging the community not to rush to judgment on Wednesday's (June 2nd) Afternoons with Amos.

Audio ©2010 WTLC/Radio One.</strong> A cross section of Indianapolis African-American leaders, including elected officials, ministers and civic leaders, announced Tuesday (June 1st) that they are asking for a United States Justice Department investigation into the May 16th alleged beating of 15-year-old Brandon Johnson by IMPD officers. Appearing on Afternoons with Amos explaining the action were State Representative Bill Crawford, City-County Councilman William "Duke" Oliver, Indianapolis NAACP President Chrystal Radcliff and minister/activist Elder Lionel Rush.
