Ruby Dee passed away this Wednesday and if you are over the age of 35 you know who she is and what she has accomplished, but
1. Ozzie Davis was not her first husband. She was married to Frankie Dee Brown from 1941- 1945 and divorced. She married Ossie in 1948 and they remained married until is death in 2005.
2. She is an honorary member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
3. She has threee children: Guy Davis, Nora Davis and Hasna muhammad.
4. In 2004, she was the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors, along with Elton John, Joan Sutherland, John Williams, Warren Beatty and her husband Ozzie Davis.
5. In 2008, at age 83, she became the second oldest actress to be nominated for an Academy Award. The oldest is Gloris Stuart.
