The Situation can’t hide behind his abs much longer.

After earning the lowest scores on “Dancing with the Stars” Monday night, the “Jersey Shore” star said he couldn’t understand why he hasn’t won over the judges.

“I don’t know what their deal was,” he told usmagazine.com, following rumors that he will be voted off the show Tuesday night. “I actually stormed off upset because I tried so hard.”

Ever since he started rehearsals late due to his “Jersey Shore” commitments, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino hasn’t been able to get a leg-up on the competition.

The 27-year-old reality star even changed his haircut to please the judges, but to no avail.

“Once I landed all those lifts and the judges were trashing me? I’ll be honest with you, it was in one ear and out the other,” Sitch told usmagazine.com after performing the tango on Monday. “I tried my best, and if they didn’t see it and wanted to be negative, so be it.”

Esther Frances, a Latin dance champ at New York‘s Dance Times Square — the studio created by “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographers Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin — said the lifts are not the problem.

“He’s performing, he’s not actually dancing,” she told the Daily News. “The tricks were cool but there was no dancing.”

Despite Karina Smirnoff gushing to people.com that Sitch is “the best partner ever,” Frances said she is partly to blame for their low scores.

“Karina is trying to focus on his performance,” she said. “But he needs to learn how to actually dance.”

She says his only chance at winning the trophy is if he goes back to “the basics,” rather than showing off his abs and his lifting skills.

In the meantime, The Situation is fighting off rumors that he used steroids to develop his famous six pack.

“Oh never, never, never,” he said on ABC’s “Nightline” Monday night. “The steroid look is definitely a bulkier, bulkier look. I have a more thin, lean look.”

But the tanorexic TV star was man enough to confess that he wears mascara on the dance floor.

“Dancing with the Stars” results night airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
