Ohio– Ted Williams isn’t famous – yet.
A viral video rocketing through cyberspace, however, could soon catapult the homeless panhandler from just a face in the crowd to the next big thing.
Williams solicits money by the side of Interstate 71 in Columbus, Ohio with a sign advertising his “god given gift” of an amazing speaking voice.
His slogan caught the attention of a reporter for the Columbus Dispatch, who interviewed Williams and posted the inspiring clip online Tuesday.
In the clip, the Brooklyn native explains his history in a smooth, polished voice that would sound at home on any major television network.
Williams was introduced to the idea of becoming a “voice” at the age of 14, when he met an announcer on a field trip who told him radio is “theater of mind.”
“I just said, well, hey. I can’t be an actor, I can’t be an on-air personality, but the voice just became something of a development over the years and I went to school for it,” Williams says in the video.
