More people are preparing meals at home — not just in the U.S., but all throughout the world.  Eight out of ten respondents in a new AllRecipes.com poll say they cook in their own kitchens every day.  The primary reason has to do with a lifestyle change, with 56-percent saying they’re dining in to “eat healthier.”  But 49-percent want to become better cooks, and are hoping that will happen with more practice, while 43-percent simply “love to cook.”  Forty-eight-percent say they get “greater meal variety” when they’re in charge of the menu.  Forty-two-percent are using their own stoves, ovens, and microwaves in an effort “to save money.”  The Internet is also playing a role for most home cooks.  Nearly 65-percent say they go online to find new recipes.

More than 74-hundred people from 14 countries took part in the survey.  The U.S., Mexico, and Canada are included, while Europe is represented with respondents from the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Russia, Poland, and the Netherlands.  Australia, New Zealand and the South American nations of Brazil and Argentina also participated in the international poll.
