What started out as a police officer responding to a call about someone stealing, took a turn that definitely doesn’t have the ending you would expect.

According to WIAT, Helen Johnson of Tarrant, Alabama, went to the store to buy some eggs, but realized she didn’t have enough money. Johnson was desperate because she hadn’t fed her grandchildren in two days. So, she decided to put a few eggs in her pocket. Johnson was caught by a store employee who then called the police and the eggs broke as well.

The 47-year-old grandmother expected to be arrested when the officer arrived. But, to her surprise the officer decided to buy her a carton of eggs.

A bystander caught the officers act of kindness on camera and posted the clip online. That video quickly went viral and is already up to 650,000 views.
