NAACP OfficeIn a crime, reminiscent of those domestic terrorism attacks against blacks in 1950s and 1960s America, the FBI is searching for a suspect who may be connected to an explosion outside a Colorado NAACP office. The explosion happened on Tuesday outside the Colorado Springs chapter of the NAACP. According to FBI investigators, a device went off just before 11 a.m. next to the outside wall of the building, which also houses other businesses. Authorities are looking for a person of interest in this “bombing” described as a balding, white man in his 40s possibly driving a dirty, white, 2000 or older model pickup truck. Nobody was injured or killed in the blast that some authorities noted could’ve been worse. A thinkprogress.org report on this incident notes that the explosive device was placed next to a gas can. However, the gasoline did not catch fire and explode. Click the link to read Ian Millhiser’s report on thinkprogress.org.
