It was announced in February the Pharrell’s “Happy” was going to be turned into a children’s book, set to be released October 6th.  With the book release right around the corner, Pharrell posted a video where he talks with kids about what makes them happy.  In the video, he comments on why he felt it was important to turn happy into a children’s book. “If this books makes one child ask him or herself ‘what makes me happy,’ then we’ve done our job,” says Pharrell.

The book is filled with pictures inspired to make kids think about what it is that makes them happy.  Pharrell has partnered with the FirstBook organization to donate up to 50,000 books to low-income families. You can help donate books by simply tweeting why reading makes you happy, and using #readHappy in your tweets.

Pharrell also commented, “I love what I do and am grateful to all the people who felt that ‘Happy’ resonated with them. My hope is that this book inspires a child’s imagination and creativity and that it teaches the importance of being happy and true to yourself.”  You can find out more about the book here, and check out the cute video below.
