Usually when you’re a bridesmaid, you wouldn’t miss fulfilling your duties on your friend’s special day for anything. Well, unless you were Serena Williams, and you were playing in Wimbledon.
On Wednesday, Ciara and Russell Wilson tied the knot in Liverpool. Williams, who is a good friend of Ciara’s was expected to be a part of the wedding party, but she couldn’t make it due to playing in the Wimbledon semi-finals match.
Sources told E! News that Ciara was completely understanding that Williams wouldn’t be able to make it, but they face-timed each other before the ceremony.
Williams did defeat her opponent, Vesnina, and has advanced to the Wimbledon finals. The final match is taking place July 9th, at 9am. Read more on the story here.
