About Callie Douglas

Callie Douglas is a native North Carolinian. Her career has been a series of twists, turns, and unbelievable encounters. She has excelled in the media industry for well over twenty years. Although a seasoned professional, Callie isn’t afraid to have a good time.

A kid at heart she feels that most people take themselves much too seriously. “I have long given up waiting to change from my childlike fascination with life,” notes Callie. “I will constantly be amazed by the human existence on this big blue ball called Earth.”

Callie names her family as her biggest success. “I am blessed to have an adoring husband and three wonderful daughters. They are my anchor.” The Carolina native has been married for nearly thirty years and she is proud to say her daughters have exceeded her own academic achievements. At times she says she can hardly believe that she has been blessed with such a loving and devoted family.

“I consider it all joy that I am a part of The Light 103.9’s on-air staff and thank God each and every day for an opportunity to share in His music ministry.”

Callie dreams to one day have her own television talk show.

When inside linebacker Karlos Dansby arrived in South Florida for a visit with the Dolphins on the first day of free agency, it didn’t take him long to be convinced about the direction of the organization. It only took a few steps into the team’s weight room on a random offseason afternoon. “There were more […]

Every NFL season features quarterbacks getting benched and, ultimately, coaches getting fired. As training camp approaches and with every team in the valley of 0-0 and having a one-in-four chance (in theory) of winning the division and hosting a playoff game, optimism causes many fans to believe that their quarterback can — and will — […]

Cross another unsurprising name off Terrell Owens’ wishlist. Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman told KSTP-TV sports director Joe Schmit that the Vikings were not interested in adding T.O. to their receiver mix.  (Thanks to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune for passing along the news.) Slightly more surprising is Minnesota’s lack of […]

The NFL wants players to wear more padding in the upcoming season, with an eye on making the changes become mandatory in 2011. Vikings linebacker Ben Leber, for one, doesn’t like the idea. Speaking with Mike Florio and Henry Lake on KFAN, Leber said there will be a “ton of resistance” to such a proposal.  […]

The last time we heard from Ed Reed, he expressed concern that he could miss part of the regular season because of his hip surgery. The Baltimore Sun believes the absence could be substantial. Jamison Hensley writes the “most likely scenario” surrounding Reed would be for him to be placed on the active/PUP list to […]

This off-season, as Kris Jenkins attempted to return from his second major knee operation, he also conducted an experiment. He told himself, “I’m retiring this year,” and he said he repeated that notion until he believed it. Jets defensive tackle Kris Jenkins, who turns 31 on Aug. 3, missed all but six games last season […]

There has been speculation this offseason that Vikings running back Adrian Peterson isn’t happy with his contract and that might be one reason he stayed away from the team’s three-day minicamp in June. Peterson hadn’t commented on the issue until he was stopped on the red carpet Wednesday night while entering the ESPY awards in […]

Brett Favre said during the ESPY awards show on Wednesday night in Los Angeles that he would “love to play” for the Vikings this season but still hasn’t decided if he will return because his surgically repaired left ankle continues to give him problems. “I still have a little bit of time, and believe it […]

He didn’t raise his voice or slam his fist. He didn’t resort to theatrics during a 30-minute press briefing on Monday. NBA commissioner David Stern didn’t once look annoyed. But his message to the players’ union on Monday couldn’t have been clearer: Get ready to makes some concessions, because what’s going on now simply isn’t […]

There was speculation when Adrian Peterson missed the Vikings’ mandatory minicamp in June that the running back might be unhappy with his contract. Former NFL executive Michel Lombardi, who now works for league’s website and NFL.com, has heard that Peterson definitely isn’t pleased with his deal. Under the “Things I Hear” section of his new column, Lombardi writes that Peterson […]

Last week was an eventful one for Vikings receiver Sidney Rice.  First, he faced the Wrath of Cris, when a former Vikings receiver who all he did was catch touchdowns gave Rice a public ripping for not showing up to Larry Fitzgerald’s workout camp. Right about the same time Cris Carter said that “OTAs and […]

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has been barred by probation officials from leaving Pennsylvania following a shooting outside his birthday party in Virginia last month, NBC 10 in Philadelphia is reporting. According to the report, Vick has already missed two scheduled appearances, one at a football camp in Baltimore on Friday and another at a […]
