Ok family…. we gotta pray we gotta pray… I posted the story below about the couple we had grown to love so much over the years finally publicizing their divorce.  Deitrick and Damita Haddon only shared the moment with friends, family and some in the industry.  At the time of the public became aware, it seemed very politically correct and amicable to some degree.  Over the weekend things took a little twist!  Deitrick went public with his perspective of coming clean in 2013!  He went in on social media about his ex-wife’s indiscretions and even named the individual on twitter and facebook.  Since then the posts have been taken down.  Some of his followers were not so pleased with his airing of his domestic laundry.   Some think he lashed out because of scrutiny of him coming forth with pictures of his daughter over the holidays and that he is remarrying….. Either way we love both Deitrick and Damita and pray they can keep their personal business private.  WWJD?

“Coming clean in 2013 so God can really be truly glorified

My objective in this personal message to my supporters is to set the record straight on why I divorced my ex-wife, to clear my daughter’s and fiancé’s name, and to give you the truth. I’m not here to throw anyone under the bus, but I refuse to remain silent while people slander my name because the other parties involved are refusing to speak up for me and about their involvement in this matter. I regret having to continue to speak on this but you all need to know the truth from my perspective.

It does not feel good when people make comments saying that I left my wife for a younger woman and a baby!! It’s simply not the truth & the truth is recorded in heaven! Heaven keeps good records & i have no reason to lie!!! I met the young lady when i moved to L.A a broken mess & God used her to keep me from committing suicide twice!! I do admit that she did get pregnant before my divorce was final as my divorce carried on for over a year. However an abortion was not an option for me so I covered her & she covered me while we both repented of our sins & submit to spiritual leadership. As a sign of humility & accountability, I have not preached on any platform in any church for one year!! I’ve paid my penalty for my sin!!

I understand that my ex-wife wants to keep quiet & she has that right but to allow people to think this way about me while she remain Quiet is not cool when I was a good husband, not perfect but a good husband & friend to her for years!! I take full responsibility for my actions but I WILL NOT take responsibility for the cause of my actions. I don’t expect Damita to be bold enough to go public because people will take your transparency & rub it in your face & even Christians who are called to restore & forgive will be ready to throw stones at her for something that God has forgiven her for & is in her past. Unfortunately, we happen to live in a religious community that preach forgiveness but when the opportunity presents itself to show it they just don’t do it!!!

However, I do expect Isaac Carree to stand up and be man enough to own his mistakes & give his fans the truth they deserve to know. I appreciate your new song ‘Clean this house”, you know I’ve always been a fan of yours since day one & I’ve never done anything to hurt you but you left one sin out of your song that would have set the record straight & solidified my healing process & that is adultery! I hate to see you walk in deception when it’s unnecessary. Yes I have forgiven you but I want to see you be the true man that God is calling for all us to be. The Gospel community & church has had enough deception. Let’s come clean in 2013. I forgive you & I love you bro but it’s time to be real.

For those that are small minded & will say that I may be jealous of Isaac. That is incorrect, I have always shown my support to him & I celebrate the gifts that God has blessed us with in the Kingdom. However, I have kept quiet & covered him for 2 years since I found out & it wasn’t easy to watch the man that broke up my home run around singing on stages as if he had done nothing devastating to a his fellow brother in the Gospel!!

I have moved on… God has blessed me with a baby that has in many ways neutralized the enemies darts that have been thrown against me. Please let it go down in the books that I did not leave Damita for a younger woman, that is not just not the truth!!

Isaac the ball is in your court & no longer in mine. I sincerely wish you the best but it’s time for us to be real if we’re gonna spread this Gospel. Anything other than that is unnecessary hypocrisy!! I don’t need an apology but your fans deserve an apology for the damage that have been caused by your actions!!

I truly apologize for the damage all this has & will cause the Gospel community & the church. I never dreamed in a million years that I would be part of such foolishness but I’m determined to never bring this kind of shame to the body of Christ again!!”

Previous Story:

While there has been much talk within the industry about what’s been going on between Deitrick Haddon and Damita all of the rumors came to a haul, after Deitrick made his divorce from Damita public on his Facebook page on August 14th .

After 15 years of marriage, he and his wife, Damita Haddon, have officially divorced. Though the news is just now hitting the public, Haddon says “Our breakup is NOT recent! It’s been well over a year in the process. We have both been have repented & moved on!”

His ex-wife has not yet responded to his public disclosure of the split. The former Mrs. Haddon also managed to keep a tight lid on the news of the undoing of her marriage during recent radio and magazine interviews.

Though many will undoubtedly speculate about what went wrong, “D Haddy” says don’t expect to get any further details. “I’m very private about my personal life,” he explains, saying no one will be able to get him to speak on it again unless God leads him to share the testimony.

During his public social networking rant, however, Haddon did drop some clues about the cause of the split. “I think it’s important 4 people to know that in your pursuit of ministry don’t lose family,” he admonishes, indicating that ministry obligations eventually overshadowed the relationship.

Haddon continues, “It is possible to work so hard & be so driven that you lose everything!! I pray that in the future i find the balance of ministry & family!!”

In 2008, during happier times, the then couple shared their secrets to balancing ministry and marriage in an interview with AOL’s Black Voices.

Mr. Haddon said:

It’s like a flow with us and it’s no big deal. We’ve always known that we would do what we do. When we were dating before we got married, it’s no different than it is now. We’ve always had an understanding that we both would be singing and going across the country and the world doing what we love to do which is singing and getting on stage and blessing the people. It’s really easy for us. It’s all about scheduling and when it’s time to go home, take your butt home. I can’t stay over a couple of days and hang out like I would like to with my friends. After I do a concert, I have to go home and see my wife because it’s all about timing and scheduling. If I wait a couple of days to get home, she’ll be gone on the road doing her thing. It’s all about doing what you say you’re going to do. When it’s time to go home, go home and when it’s time to leave, leave. It’s no strain, no stress and no pressure. We don’t have any kids yet so it’s really easy for us.

Apparently, it wasn’t that easy.

And the truth has now come pouring out all over Facebook and Twitter. Haddon says he and Damita have worked hard in ministry and “blessed many while bleeding ourselves! God is with us both but no longer as a couple!”

Instantly, many of Deitrick Haddon’s fans tweeted their support, with some noting that he is still a powerful man of God, to which Haddon responded, “If i was that powerful of a Man Of God i would still be married 2 Damita. I’m learning to have balance. You can win & lose @ the same time!!”

Jude 1:24 indicates that God is able to keep us from stumbling and erring: “Now to him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.” But we must rely on Him and put Him first in our lives in order for that to happen.

Many successful Christian leaders become so consumed with “ministry” that they forget their first ministry is to their family. Televangelist Benny Hinn admits that he made the mistake of neglecting his own family, causing a temporary split from his wife Suzanne in 2010.

The two have since reconciled.

No doubt, news of the Haddons’ split has sent shockwaves throughout the Christian community, as Deitrick and Damita Haddon were viewed as one of the few stable couples within the Gospel industry.

Even though their marriage has crumbled, Haddon assures everyone, “Damita’s doing well! I’m doing fine!”
