Noah Movie Press Photo

The upcoming film Noah has been surrounded with a great deal of buzz. There has been rumored “bible” stretching and film house hustling as of late. The film has  received generally positive reviews from critics. It currently has a 71% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 14 reviews. Movieline’s Pete Hammond said that “It stays with you long after you leave the theatre. This ‘Noah’ is unlike any other film of its kind – an intimate and stirring new take on a biblical story we only thought we knew.” Steven D. Greydanus from the National Catholic Register wrote that “It is something more vital, surprising and confounding: a work of art and imagination that makes this most familiar of tales strange and new: at times illuminating the text, at times stretching it to the breaking point, at times inviting cross-examination and critique.

I was not invited to screen the film, so I cannot tell you if it is good or not. What I can share with you is the  following: a featurette describing the movie and the actual scripture passage explaining Noah’s journey.

Here is the featurette:

Here is the scripture says about Noah:

Genesis 5:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.
Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Genesis 7:2 Of every clean beast you shall take to you by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
Genesis 8:20 And Noah built an altar to the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Genesis 9:28 And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.
Genesis 9:29 And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.
Luke 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
