BU Ofcr James Davis IMPD Ofcr Rod BradwayRemembering fallen officers in the Indianapolis area on this Wednesday…Here are some of the latest headlines from the AM-1310 “The Light” News with Kim Wells.

Butler University is marking the 10th anniversary of the shooting death of Butler University Police Officer James Davis (seen in the photo on the left). The university community is paying tribute to the fallen officer with a ceremony in the parking lot outside of Hinkle Fieldhouse. Hinkle is located on the campus at 510 W 49th Street. At 10:30 a.m., organizers will dedicate a street sign in Davis’ memory, ring bells in his honor and observe a moment of silence. He was killed in the line of duty.

Also this morning but getting underway an hour earlier, a benefit is being held in downtown Indy in memory of fallen IMPD Officer Rod Bradway (seen in the photo on the right). People are asked to bring donations for the German Shepherd Rescue Indy shelter in honor of Bradway from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the East Side Plaza of City Market. He had a passion for the dogs and spent a lot of time volunteering at this rescue shelter. Organizers are asking for dog toys like tennis balls, and dog food. Bradway was also killed in the line of duty one year ago.
