charles williamscentral state logoTen years ago, our community lost one of our giants, Rev. Charles Williams, the vision behind the growth of Indiana Black Expo in the 1980’s, 1990’s and the early years of the 21st century and the vision behind and Founder of the Circle City Classic.  In honor of the tenth year since his passing, Central State University will honor Rev. Williams memory with special “REV” decals on the backs of their players’ helmets when they played the 31st Circle City Classic.  IMG_8946%5b1%5dIMG_8945%5b1%5d (1)Said Jahan Culbreath, Director of Athletics and Recreation at Central State University, “This year marks the tenth year of the passing of Rev. Charles Williams, the Founder of the Circle City Classic. The Central State University Marauders Football Team will honor Rev. Williams’ memory with a decal “REV” on the back of their helmets. The Circle City Classic has great meaning to CSU. We consider it our “Home” Classic. ” This is the first time in the 321st years of the that any team has honored an official of the Circle City Classic in this way.
