Hoosier native, actress Vivica A. Fox is now on board for the long-waited next installment of the “Independence Day” film.  Fox has signed on to “Independence Day 2.” Roland Emmerich, who directed the first sci-fi action adventure in 1996, made the announcement Monday night via Twitter:

Fox will reportedly reprise her role as Will Smith’s wife Jasmine Dubrow, although Smith isn’t expected to be a part of the project. The cast will also include Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher. “Independence Day 2” is set to arrive in theatres on June 24, 2016.

Also known for starring in Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” movies, the films “Soul Food” and “Set It Off”, Fox appeared in last year’s SyFy Channel movie “Sharknado 2: The Second One” and competed on the recently-completed season of NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice,” where she was in the final three contestants left standing.
