T.D. Jakes created MegaFest, but the 2013 edition of his faith, family and entertainment festival could have been the Oprah Winfrey show.

This go-around, when the event returns to Dallas on Wednesday, Jakes is the top star. Besides presiding over his local megachurch, The Potter’s House, he just released a book, started a TV talk show tryout this week and is a producer on a Jennifer Garner movie that began filming this summer.

The additions to the 2015 MegaFest include an expanded focus on business and entrepreneurship, technology and health care — all issues of interest to Jakes and his Dallas-based ministry.

“MegaFest is a reflection of my relationships,” Jakes said during a recent appearance on the TV showHollywood Today. “You have to put yourself in the environment that you want to end up in.”
