Serena Williams recently joined WIRED Magazine as a guest editor.  Williams wanted to join the WIRED team to speak up about gender and race inequality.  Earlier this year, J. K. Rowling stood up for Williams on social media as people body shamed her.  Williams says that Rowling sticking up for her ended up inspiring her to speak out about these topics.

In the article, Williams stated, “But we can keep working even more to increase equality—whether it’s making sure to interview black candidates for tech jobs or standing up to cyberbullying or making sure that our technology is designed by all kinds of people. Eventually we’re going to make the world better. For everyone.”
