Star Wars: The Force Awakens is probably one of the most anticipated film releases of 2015.  Details about the movie have been pretty secretive, thus far.  Actress Lupita Nyong’o stopped by Good Morning America to discuss her role in the film.

Nyong’o plays a character by the name of Maz, who was a pirate.  Nyong’o told GMA that she had an instant connection to the the franchise, because she watched the films growing up.  “We only had two channels in Kenya when I was growing up, so everyone watched Star Wars. I didn’t– really didn’t know there were people who didn’t know about Star Wars,” Nyong’o stated.

Nyong’o also hinted that her character’s eyes hold some sort of importance in the film, but she admits that she hasn’t actually seen the finished film yet.  Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on Friday, December 18th.  You can read more and watch the interview with Nyong’o here.  You can also watch the trailer below.
