Carolina Panther’s quarterback, Cam Newton, has been having himself quite the football season. The Falcons dealt the Panthers their first loss of the season this past Sunday. Despite the loss, Newton has helped lead the Panthers to the best record in the NFL, as well as clinching their division. (14-1)
This season just seems to be getting better and better for Newton. He announced yesterday via Twitter that he and his long time girlfriend, Kia, had welcomed their son into the world this past week.
This recent news explains Newton’s unusual end zone dance this past Sunday, where he appeared to “rock the baby” to sleep. This happened right before he did his signature move of dabbing and handing the ball off to a young fan. At the time, no one knew why Newton had added an extra element to his usual end zone celebration. Some Falcons fans were upset the celebration didn’t lead to a 15-yard penalty for using the ball as a prop. Others thought he should have been fined for his actions, that is, until they found out he was actually just celebrating the birth of his son.
