It was opening weekend for the faith-based film “Miracles From Heaven,” starring Jennifer Garner and Queen Latifah. The film raked in a strong $15 million this past weekend, with a total of over $18.5 million thus far.
“Miracles From Heaven” is based on the memoir by Christy Beam, whose daughter’s severe digestive issues were miraculously cured after surviving a terrible accident. The film ranked third over all this past weekend, right behind “Zootopia” and “The Divergent Series: Allegiant.” It also ranks the fourth highest debut of any faith-based film.
Bishop T. D. Jakes and DeVon Franklin are both credited producers on the film. Jennifer Garner recently opened up about her own faith, and how the film has changed her. You can read more on the story here.
