Cubs fans will be gathering in Chicago today to celebrate the Major League Baseball team’s historic World Series victory that it took more than a century to achieve. The Chicago River is now Cubbie blue in honor of the win. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. Eastern, when the team leaves Wrigley Field and heads to downtown Chicago for a parade that will wind through the heart of the city landing eventually on famed Michigan Avenue. The celebrations end with a Noon time rally in Grant Park where hundreds of thousands of fans are already assembled to congratulate the north side team and #FlytheW for their Cubs.

Celebrations are going on to Indy’s north because of the Cubs, however because of them commerce is going on to our south. To Kentucky…Louisville Slugger is producing four times the amount of commemorative World Series bats for Chicago Cubs fans. The demand is huge. WHAS-TV is reporting that about 10,000 commemorative bats are usually made, but that number is up to 40,000 this year. The Cubs are celebrating their first World Series win since 1908.
