Kim Burrell’s sermon on homosexuality has caused quite the stir, especially with fans of talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres.  Burrell was scheduled to appear on Ellen this Thursday, but has since been booted after her comments on homosexuality went viral.

Burrell was quickly a trending topic on Twitter, with many users questioning weather or not she would still be appearing on Ellen as scheduled.  Fans even went as far as making a petition that has over 6,000 signatures to stop Burrell’s Ellen performance.  Ellen took to twitter to announce that Burrell has been pulled from Thursday’s show, where she was set to perform a song from the “Hidden Figures” soundtrack with Pharrell Williams.

Burrell issued a statement on Facebook Live saying the clip in question was taken out of context, and it didn’t show her entire sermon.  Burrell said, “I make no excuses or apologies.  My heart is a pure as it comes, and you know it when you hear me sing.  That’s why you follow me.”  Burrell’s Facebook Live video appears to have since been deleted.

Other celebrities have spoken out against Burrell’s speech.  Read their thoughts and more on the story here.  You can also see the clip below, that has been circulating the internet since New Year’s Eve.
