Dr. Judith Monroe, Indiana State Health Commissioner since 2005 is leaving to become Deputy Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Monroe talked about her leaving on Afternoons with Amos.

Dr. Monroe, who helped improve Indiana’s anti-obesity and anti-smoking efforts, pushed the state’s INShape Indiana healthy lifestyle initiatives and dealt with the H1N1 virus situation will also become Director of a new CDC Office of State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support.
