Top officials of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Departm0ent (IMPD) appeared on Afternoons with Amos to explain the security and traffic plans for next week’s 41st Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration. Deputy Chief Mike Bates (Traffic Branch) , Major Brian Mahone (Community Affairs Division) and Commander Karen Arnett (Downtown District) explain safety and traffic plans and took listener calls. Several hundred IMPD officers will be on patrol, including horse patrol, community affairs, undercover and bicycle units. A couple of hundreds community volunteers will also be downtown on walking patrols helping to defuse situations. Hear the full interview and plans above.
