After not working in 2013 at all, Trai Byers who plays the eldest brother Andre Lyon on the hit new FOX series “Empire,” revealed on The Meredith Vieira Show that he almost became a pastor.
Byers shared with Meredith that he is very passionate about his religious beliefs. He told her after not getting work as an actor, he asked God what did he want him to do? He said he thought maybe he was meant to be a pastor, but he landed the role on Empire and his role in the civil rights film Selma came right after.
He also talked about the possibility of Academy Award winner Denzel Washington guest-starring on the show.
