Democratic Mayoral Candidate Larry Vaughn

Indianapolis’ mainstream media have pointedly ignored covering the 2015 Mayoral Primary here in Indianapolis.  But not Afternoons with Amos.  On a special Afternoons with Amos, just two weeks before the May 5th primary, a long time community activist, Larry Vaughn, with strong views on how Indianapolis should be governed appeared in his second appearance on the program. Vaughn is running for Democratic nomination for Indianapolis Mayor. In the Afternoons with Amos interview, Vaughn talked with listeners and the community about the issues and what he’d do if elected Mayor. Vaughn strongly advocated programs to put people to work, even in trade or vocation type jobs.  Vaughn said that work would help reduce crime.  Vaughn is a strong advocate of traditional public schools and said if elected Mayor he’d “abolish” the city’s charter schools.  Vaughn talked in opposition to the Justice Center proposal and strongly criticized deals of previous mayors that have enriched law firms and businesses at the expense of helping people in the community.  Hear the Afternoons with Amos Interview With Larry Vaughn Democratic candidate for Mayor in the May 5th Democratic Primary.
