In a new blog post, the multiple award-winning gospel artist admonishes you to “think grateful” thoughts.

“It’s sometimes amazing how I have to stop myself from discussing all the bad in the world and being a downer about how things are getting worse. I’m better, but still not where I know I need to be,” said the 45-year-old in a personal post titled Force Yourself to “Think Grateful.

During a recent trip to the UK, instead of being thankful for the ministry opportunity, Franklin admitted to grumbling about the inconvenience of all the planning and fanfare around the trip

“I found myself complaining about having to leave in the midst of recording to catch a flight and travel half around the globe. All the planning it takes to do an international trip can be rough in the midst of late night recording sessions, family time, doing the interviews,” he said.

Then he stopped himself mid-sentence and noted that he had slipped into a pattern of complaining—again.
