If you watch NBC’s The Voice, then you already know how amazing contestant Jordan Smith is.  He managed to capture the hearts of the live studio audience, all four judges, and America when he sang his rendition of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” on live television Monday night.

Earlier on in the season, when Smith started his journey on The Voice, he spoke of his background singing in the church, which became very evident after watching his performance.  He started off the classic hymn a capella, then he played piano for the remainder of the song.  It was such a beautiful performance that everyone in the audience, as well as all four judges, were brought to their feet.  Smith’s coach Adam got up and hugged him afterwards.  Coach Blake Shelton commented, “Coming off the weekend and the horrible things that happened over in Paris and just kind of having a heavy heart the last few days, thank you for that.”

The songs get released on iTunes after the show airs, and Smith’s version of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” shot to the top of the charts.  It held the number two spot in less than an hour after the show.  The next day it took the number one spot on iTunes, beating out both Adele and Justin Bieber.  The performance also has over 2 million views on YouTube.
