When Canton Police Department K9 officer Jethro was killed in the line of duty, the loss was felt across the country.

Since then, Jethro’s partner, Officer Ryan Davis, says the outreach has been incredible.

“It has been unbelievable, it restores your faith in humanity,” said Davis.

When “K9’s 4 COPS” learned of Jethro’s death, the Houston-based foundation stepped in and donated Davis a new partner.

The search started with 36 K9s. After an elimination process, only three remained.

“I would’ve been comfortable with any of the three, but Tuko stood out,” said Davis.
