An annual report on religious freedom is raising some concerns today. The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom says religious freedom remains under “serious and sustained assault” around the globe. The independent government advisory body wants the State Department to add seven countries to its list of the world’s worst abusers of religious freedom and human rights. They’re calling on them to get it done. Ten countries are currently recognized as such by the government. The commission wants to add Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Pakistan, Egypt, the Central African Republic and Vietnam.
